Über die Ausstellung:
Zuneigung, Vertrauen und Nähe: Die Liebe ist ein fundamentaler Bestandteil unseres Lebens. Ein erfüllendes Liebesglück scheint aus traditioneller Sichtweise nur mit einem Lieblingsmenschen möglich. Nicht ohne Grund fluten unzählige Dating-Apps unsere Smartphones. Das Credo: Nur ein Swipe von der großen Liebe entfernt. Der Wunsch nach dem romantischen Liebesglück manifestiert sich auch in der Kunst und Kultur. Von der Amour fou bis hin zur ewigen Liebe: Musik, Film und Literatur kommen fast nicht ohne diese Idee von einer romantischen Paarbeziehung aus.
Doch Konzepte der Liebe gibt es unzählige. Polyamouröse Beziehungen inkludieren mehr als nur eine*n Partner*in. Mit dem Modell „friends with benefits“ werden die Grenzen zwischen Liebe und Freundschaft vermischt. „No strings attached“ verspricht schnellen und unverbindlichen Sex, ohne Emotionen involvieren zu müssen.
Und wie steht es um andere Formen des zwischenmenschlichen Daseins? Neben unseren Partner*innen prägen auch unsere Freund*innen unser Leben. Manche betrachten Letztere als Teil ihrer „chosen family”. Community Care macht alternative Lebenskonzepte möglich, die auf tiefgründigen Beziehungen abseits gesellschaftlicher Normen beruhen.
Wie und wen lieben wir heute und was bedeutet das? Was meinen wir, wenn wir über Liebe reden? Welche Formen der Liebe gibt es? Welchen Stellenwert haben diese in unserer Gesellschaft? Wie kann ein (radikaler) Neuentwurf des Liebens aussehen?

About the exhibition:
Affection, trust and closeness: Love is a fundamental part of our lives. From a traditional point of view, a fulfilling happiness in love seems only possible with one favorite person. Countless dating apps flood our smartphones. The credo: Just one swipe away from the great love. And the desire for romantic happiness also manifests itself in art and culture. From the amour fou to eternal love: music, film and literature almost cannot exist without this idea of a romantic relationship of two people.
But concepts of love are countless. Polyamorous relationships include more than just one partner. The „friends with benefits“ model blurs the boundaries between love and friendship. „No strings attached“ promises quick and noncommittal sex without having to involve emotions.
And what about other forms of interpersonal existence? In addition to our partners, our lives are also shaped by our friends. Some consider the latter as part of their „chosen family“. Community Care makes alternative concepts of life possible, which are based on profound relationships beyond social norms. How and whom do we love today and what does it mean? What do we mean when we talk about love? What forms of love exist? What significance do they have in our society? What might a (radical) redesign of love look like?
